Scomber scombrus is mainly caught during October and November, when its natural fat content contributes to flavour, texture, and the quality we seek. Chilean jack mackerel, Trachurus murphyi, is caught from August through July. Other mackerel species are sourced as required when quality and availability meet our requirements and those of our customers.<\/p>\n

We soley work with fisheries and suppliers that are in compliance with applicable quotas and rules established for the relevant area. The mackerel is IQF frozen, meaning each fish is frozen individually and stored in separate cells in our own cold stores.<\/p>\n

The site has an annual production capacity of approximately 150 million cans<\/strong>. It includes around 60,000 square metres of buildings<\/strong> and covers 42.6 hectares of land<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Raw-material reception and storage<\/h4>\n

The factory includes facilities for raw-material reception, freezing capacity, separate cold-storage cells and warehousing.<\/p>\n

These facilities support the handling and storage of raw materials before they move further into production.<\/p>\n

Production, packing and administration<\/h4>\n

The Saeby production site also includes areas for raw-material processing, canned mackerel production, packing and administration.<\/p>\n
